Proceeds from 15th of December will go to Club 21 School, a school in South Africa for children with Trisomy 21, and to our local Colorado Springs Down Syndrome Association (CSDSA).
Become a Friend, join the Club, and open a door of opportunity for children with Down syndrome, helping them advance and develop in their world. By attending this concert, you’re helping provide support and love to a child in need.
Hi! My name is Jared Anderson and I’m a singer/songwriter and a lover of adventure and quirkiness. In 2015 my friend Tim invited me to go to South Africa to perform a benefit concert for a school called Club 21. These children had learned a couple of my songs and wanted to perform them with me. I jumped at the chance and took my son with me.
On a Monday night at a theater in Pretoria with 40 children with Down syndrome my heart blew wide open. I had so much fun, and these kids were so delightful, raucous, and engaging. On the plane-ride home my friend Tim asked me if I would be interested in joining the effort to help this school. He imagined a benefit concert in Colorado similar to the one that took place in South Africa.
One night in October of 2015, my wife and I stayed up late at our kitchen table and dreamed this show. It’s based around a song I wrote called The 15th of December about the panic and clumsiness of trying to be perfect for the holidays. This seemed like a good place to start, and since then great folks have joined up in so many ways to bring all this goodness to one place in one show.
The chance to sing and dance, laugh, wonder, and celebrate those who are often pushed to the margins brings the meaning of Christmas closer to my life. Our family looks forward to this effort every year and once you see it, I think you will too.
Make plans to join us this year for The 15th of December. And bring your inner six year-old…
Special Thanks to our Sponsors! The generosity and support of these individuals, businesses, and ministries has been incredible.
